Profundus is based on research and development of a high-resolution adaptive optics retinal camera at Mölndal's hospital. The new camera, developed due to a need for improved resolution in retinal imaging, offers 7-10 times higher resolution than conventional instruments over a considerably larger imaging area that competing concepts.
